Our Story

Story of Prospect Hill Gardens Photo Album

Together, teachers Susan Weseen and Taura McMeekin offer children the opportunity to share and develop their passion for the environment, learning, and growing things.

Currently, these opportunities exist in several settings. As public elementary school teachers both Taura and Susan have started school gardens at the schools where they teach in Brooklyn (Taura is at PS 164 and Susan is at PS 295). They both also facilitate environmental groups that focus on greening their communities.

In addition to the work they do at their schools, Taura and Susan teach gardening as an after school program at Prospect Hill Garden. This garden was built by students in the program and is maintained by these students and the seniors from Prospect Hill Senior Services Center.
